A penthouse apartment reimagined as a serene urban retreat — open-plan living with panoramic skyline views, bespoke marble surfaces, and a curated palette of warm neutrals.

The Ivory Residence began with a single question: how do you create intimacy within vast, sky-high spaces? Working closely with the client — a private art collector — we developed a design language that treats each room as a gallery, where light, texture, and proportion guide the eye through a carefully composed sequence of spaces. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls frame the Manhattan skyline as living artwork, while bespoke millwork in pale oak creates a warm counterpoint to the raw concrete structure.

Every material was selected not just for its visual quality, but for its tactile character and how it ages over time.
- Calacatta Oro marble — kitchen island and primary bathroom
- Quarter-sawn white oak — custom millwork and flooring
- Hand-troweled Venetian plaster — feature walls
- Brushed brass — hardware and custom lighting fixtures
- Belgian linen — drapery and upholstery

Our design process spanned three phases: a two-month conceptual exploration using physical material boards and 1:50 scale models, followed by detailed 3D visualization to refine every sightline and light condition, and finally a meticulous twelve-month build with weekly site coordination. Every joint, every shadow gap, every transition between materials was prototyped at full scale before installation.
